Fatema Nasrin

Fatema Nasrin is a Graduate Research Assistant in the ELPTS program and a Ph.D. student in the Educational Psychology Program at The University of Alabama. She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from The University of Alabama and a Master's degree in Applied Physics and Electronics from the prestigious public university from Bangladesh, Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the American International University-Bangladesh. Her research interest is cognition of learning, how new technology and technique shape learning.

David Idowu Awoyemi

David Idowu Awoyemi is currently a Graduate Research Assistant, Gaduate School Ambassador and a Ph.D. student of Instructional Technology in the department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Technology Studies. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and has a master’s degree in Educational Technology from one of the best universities in Nigeria, Africa; Federal University of Technology, Minna Nigeria and achieved a remarkable scholastic performance, due to his distinguished academic performance he was conferred on the Outstanding Student during his undergraduate and graduate studies. As an effective instructor and researcher, he has passion to always look for how to make learning more meaningful and interesting to students. His interest includes e-learning, digital based learning, Interactive VR instruction, artificial intelligence learning, instructional design. Abiodun Stephen Ijeluola
Abiodun Stephen Ijeluola is a passionate educator, Instructional designer, and researcher with over a decade of experience in teaching and professional teacher training. He has a solid educational foundation and professional experience across four continents, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Stephen has an MA in Educational Technology from the University of Tartu, Estonia, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa while working as an Instructional Designer at James Madison University. Through education and technology, Stephen hopes to make a positive difference in people's lives. His research interests include Digital Divides in Education, Game-Based Learning, Computational Thinking in Education, Technology Integration in the Classroom, and Professional Development for Teachers.

Faith Robinson-Boone
Faith Robinson-Boone is currently a Ph.D. student of Higher Education Administration in the department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Technology Studies. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Alabama. Faith is passionate about her role as an educator and researcher. She has experience working in the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as well as teaching college courses. When asked what motivates her, she responded “to positively cultivate the minds of students while working diligently to leave a positive impact on the world.” Her favorite quote is “Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family” by Kofi Annan.

Jill Westerlund
Jill Westerlund is an instructor of computer science at the University of Alabama, and a UA student pursuing a Ph.D. in education focused on research about CS education including support of CS teachers and classrooms. Since 1990, Jill has taught at the secondary and post-secondary levels in Alabama and Georgia most recently at Hoover High School in Hoover, Alabama. Jill was selected as Alabama’s 2017 Aspirations in Computing Educator Award Recipient by the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT).
Jill serves as the lead consultant for the College Board’s Computer Science courses and is a workshop consultant for AP® Computer Science Principles and AP® Computer Science A. She is a reader for Principles currently serving on the College Board’s Development Committee for AP® CSP. An avid knitter and quilt maker, Jill lives in Homewood, Alabama, with her husband, Eric, and basset hound Beau. The Westerlunds love to travel and spend time with their sons, Hunter (23) and Will (20). |
